‘Dreamtime‘
Photo-etching, 1/1, 21 x 30 cm
I am an artist-printmaker specialising in etching and aquatint, and recently experimenting with the relatively new technique of photo-etching. I use imagery from biology and medicine in my work, exploring the decorative possibilities of interior views of the human body – in a busy, external world it’s possible to get completely lost and fascinated in the wonder of the body’s natural structures and internal systems. Also, the story of human evolution shows us how we still contain remnants of our primitive ancestors and how we still have the animal in us. This is where we live.
My experimental one-off etchings are achieved through vigorous and expressive application of etching ink. I am currently preparing a series of large anatomy etchings, and some handsewn books of original prints – details of exhibitions and other interesting links on my website:

Maite Zabala
I am constantly collecting elements from architectonical surfaces. By the use of visual strategies such as repetion and fragmentation, I then recombined and rearranged them in order to build new and unknown places. Even though they appear as hermetic objects, they are intended to suggest a space ‘in between’ acting as time and space thresholds and creating atmospheres of uncertainty and confusion.

Irene Hertel
De basis van mijn werk is mijn verbazing over de wereld, in het goede en in het slechte. Dat ik iets van de mooie, ontroerende kant op papier kan zetten maakt me blij. En dat ik ook een nieuwe kleurrijkere wereld kan creëren blijft mij boeien.

op zink, kleuretsen, à la poupée (alle kleuren op een plaat) en in olie, acryl,
pastel, aquarel, houtskool, op linnen en papier; als vrij werk of in opdracht.
Cisca Poldervaart
Deze drie kleine boekjes met etsen zijn het begin van een nieuwe liefde. Meer en grotere boeken staan op stapel. Samen met de Grafiek Coalitie Gouda zijn wij boeken aan het maken voor een tentoonstelling in het Stadsmuseum Woerden-eind 2011 waar we veel en bijzondere boeken gaan tonen.

Vanaf 1992 t/m ca. 2005 heb ik vooral ruimtelijk werk gemaakt, architectonische objecten. De laatste paar jaar werk ik mijn ideeen uit in deels grafische technieken zoals blinddrukken met houten mallen en sinds kort de toyobo ets.
Arianne Schipper
After finishing her studies in Forestry and Nature Conservation (Wageningen University) in 2001, Arianne moved from the Netherlands to Aberdeen (Scotland), where she enrolled at Gray’s School of Art, specializing in sculpture. In 2005, Arianne moved to Edinburgh, where she focussed mostly on printmaking. Since 2007, she has been a member at Edinburgh Printmakers where she practised lithography. After moving back to the Netherlands Arianne started in 2009 to continue printmaking at AGA.
With her background in science (forest ecology) Arianne has always been fascinated by conflicts and interactions between the natural world, culture and the arts.
