I am an artist-printmaker specialising in etching and aquatint, and recently experimenting with the relatively new technique of photo-etching. I use imagery from biology and medicine in my work, exploring the decorative possibilities of interior views of the human body – in a busy, external world it’s possible to get completely lost and fascinated in the wonder of the body’s natural structures and internal systems. Also, the story of human evolution shows us how we still contain remnants of our primitive ancestors and how we still have the animal in us. This is where we live.

My experimental one-off etchings are achieved through vigorous and expressive application of etching ink. I am currently preparing a series of large anatomy etchings, and some handsewn books of original prints – details of exhibitions and other interesting links on my website:
